Elysium Theatre Company presents:
Ask Me Anything
written by Chris Neville-Smith
directed by Dan Bradford
performed by Heather Carroll
What we have to understand is that there are many people who are not sexist or racist or bullies or rape apologists, but they are loyal to people who are … But you know something: you’re wrong about me. I don’t always do the right thing … I should."
2021. The pandemic has brought us time. Vincent Arthur may be gone, but the cause he built around him has rallied together to keep the fight going. But the fallout from the corruption, betrayal, and a sting that went tragically wrong has not been forgotten, and Lucy Clark is ready to open up about her part in this. She's as loyal to the movement as anyone, but sometimes loyalty comes at a price. Ask Me Anything is a short monologue of the dangers of tribalism.
This was part of Elysium Theatre's Covid-19 monologues. Running for three years from 2020, fifteen different writers wrote pieces between 15 adn 40 minutes to an open brief. My play came with the third volume and was released on the 12th September 2022. This was my first fully professional commission, so many thanks to Jake Murray for giving me this first break at this level.
