Elysium Theatre presents

William Shakespeare's

A Doll's House

directed by Jake Murray

with, Faz Singhateh as Othello
Hannah Ellis Ryan as Desdemona
and Danny Solomon as Iago

Following on from Elysium Theatre's Macbeth and Midsummer Night's Dream in 2023, they are returning this year with another one of Shakespeare's best-known production, this time everybody's favourite cautionary tale of why it's always better to talk things over with your partner rather than get wound up over gossip - especially when the geezer telling you this is narked off you never gave him a promotion. I believe this is Elysium's biggest tour yet, taking on 19 venues over five weeks. As always, I'd love to tag along for the five weeks, but I have a day job.

This version of Othello is staged in the War on Terror era, with Othello now the commender of a military base in Cyprus. So I've got a lot of military sound effects lined up for this. As usual, the challenge is what comes up on tech rehearsal day, with some plays being harder than expected and some being easiest. Will update you when I'm on the other side.

Performances

Queen's Hall, Hexham: 18th & 19th September 2024 (operated by me)

then 18 other venues until 20th October (operated by Caitlin Mills and Lee Ward)
