More dates for It’s Not Cluedo!

You might have noticed that after a flurry of posts, the news section has gone quiet for a while. The section was never supposed to be running commentary - just a place for announcements as and when I have them. But I suddenly have a lot of things to announce again.

So, let's start with It's Not Cluedo!. When I first announced this, it was two dates at Brighton Fringe plus a preview at Laurels. I have now added two more dates for a fringe circuit. My co-producers Rotunda are doing Tunbridge Wells Fringe this year, so I'm going to be doing a game with them on the 30th June at 1.30 p.m. Before then, I'm giving my support to a new local fringe by doing Scarborough Fringe on the 27th June, 6.00 p.m. at YMCA Theatre Bar. (Scarborough Fringe haven't announced their programme yet, but I think I'm allowed to mention it anyway.) So that's a total run of five events.

Buxton Fringe: I haven't forgotten you. The original plan was to bring It's Not Cluedo! to Buxton with the Rotunda, but it's because High Peak Borough Council played silly buggers over the Pavilion Gardens that Rotunda's ended up doing Tunbridge Wells instead. In fact, the reason I made a late decision to take Doctor Coppelius to this year's Buxton Fringe was to fill in a Cluedo-shaped gap. I might organise a game round a table for old time's sake whilst I'm at Buxton, but ask me closer to the time.

However, the bad news is that I have nothing scheduled for Durham. Durham is being uniquely difficult about this. That is a shame, because this much as I love this partnership with The Rotunda, It's Not Cluedo! was originally supposed to be something for my home city. So apologies to anyone in Durham feeling left out of this. I'm aware that the nearest place you can see this that isn't sold out it 75 miles away. Not my doing.

But I'm not giving up that easily. This is my city too. A DIY job is considerably more complicated than a partnership with a fringe venue, but I am am exploring options for how this might work and I do have several leads. If and when I have something for you, I'll let you know.

I have another thing to announce imminently on a different subject, but that's for another post. In the meantime, you can keep up to date with all the dates on this page.

Update 20/04: Here's the audience (and three guests) after the first preview. I think they enjoyed it.

A busy bar of people smiling, with three people holding signs saying "INNOCENT".
