Directing for
Durham Dramatic Society
Between 2013 and 2018, I directed full-length plays for Durham Dramatic Society. If you're wondering why I haven't directed anything for them since then, long story. I won't give a blow-by-blow account just yet because I'm still hoping some sort of amicable resolution can be reached one day. Suffice to say, it was my decision to step back, and it wasn't because I was too busy doing other things.
But let's not finish this on a sour note. I learned a lot from the five full-length plays I directed and I learned loads about writing, directing and sound design because of that. I certainly wouldn't have had the routes to Brighton Fringe and Elysium Theatre opened to me without this. So here's the roll call of what I did back in happier days:
Haunting Julia (Alan Ayckbourn): 24th - 30th June 2018 (publicity image pictured)
And a Nightingale Sang (C. P Taylor): 17th - 23rd & 30th September 2017
The Memory of Water (Shelagh Stephenson): 21st - 27th June 2015
Our House (John Godber): 16th - 22nd November 2014
Improbable Fiction (Alan Ayckbourn): 24th - 30th November 2013
