Things I've done for the stage

A Nasty Little Play

Image of Miranda, the fading burlesque dancer. Text: Chris Neville-Smith presents A Nasty Little Play by Alan Godfrey Join us in the underworld of London's Soho in the 1950s, with its strip joints, revue bars and seedy bookshops. Dark doorways and dingy stairwells lie beneath the neon lights, and police raids are an occupational risk.

Three punters descend such a stairwell in search of their fantasies, only to be caught up in such a raid, sharing the space with three of Soho's denizens: the shop owner, a stripper, and a fading burlesque dancer. The laughter gradually dies away, as the mood turns alternately domestic and dark.

This is a play written and directed by Alan Godfrey. Unlike my last two Buxton appearances, I only have a minor role in this. Alan will do all the creative stuff, I will just do the administative liaison with the venue and fringe.
